Home Cloze Quickmap

If anyone has any suggestions for improvements to these programs, email me and I'll consider making the changes.

All these programs are freeware ; there is no cost, no nothing.

A VBA Macro, embedded in a Word Document, which checks that an Access Import has worked properly and gives details of missing or duplicate primary keys.

An Excel Worksheet showing twin Combo boxes - in a reasonably comprehensible fashion.

A much more usable Access Import Checker written in C# ; this is a standalone application with Dialog boxes - much easier. This requires the .NET framework to be installed. This program is a stand alone executable, so no install, just run it. This zip file has a sample database/import file you can check it with.

This little program does the work of the Word Game on Channel 4's "Countdown" program, but with the option of changing the number of letters. It includes a word file which I found on the net, but you can use your own.

A program for playing Battleships on a Spreadsheet. This one is stand alone, not part of Excel. It includes a very simple exercise file to show you how it works. Click the thumbnail to see the example fleet.

A very simple Mindmapping Application, Quickmap. Nothing special, nothing complicated, hell it's free and I wrote it in a couple of hours. Here are the instructions. I wrote it as an experiment with panels and scrolling.

A Cloze program which allows you to do Cloze work on a whiteboard (for example).

Security Note : You cannot click run for .NET programs. This is due to the .NET web security system ; if you run the program by clicking on the link and selecting Run you will get warning messages and it will give a security alert when you read a file.

This is not a bug, it is meant to work like this to stop programs being run off the Internet doing horrible things to your computer system. If you save the program to your hard drive and run it it should work fine.

Some of these programs will require the DotNET framework to be installed. This should be installed by standard system updates on Windows XP, but if it isn't, it can be installed by using the Windows Update option on your menu.

Note to System and Network Administrators: If you want to verify this code is virus free, please feel free to contact me, or ask for the source and you can compile it yourself.
